This site will be a comprehensive genealogy and local history site where I can share my research on my family and the localities they called home. Specifically, it will deal with the Quaker Sutton family of Cumberland and Westmorland in England. It will follow my merchant branch as it amassed great wealth and scandal in Alexandria, Virginia. And it will end with their retreat to the mountains in western Virginia, where they founded the town that still bears their name.

It is a fascinating story that I can't wait to tell. I hope you will enjoy the telling.
